Up until now, we have only been privy to a few trailers for ZombiU that let us know what the setting would be and some of the perceived uses for the Wii U GamePad as played by some virtual person. Now that E3 is in full swing, we are starting to get some real gameplay footage, and it doesn’t look half bad.

What we see here is pretty standard FPS gameplay, but it’s something that hasn’t been readily available on a Nintendo console in years. The player in this video is tasked with finding his way into a spooky nursery to find some medication, but he is held back by, you guessed it, zombies. The character has only a pistol in this video, and a very limited supply of bullets, even for a demo (he runs out by the end and dies). The environments look pretty detailed, with overturned tables and chairs, and creepy children’s drawings on the wall.
Unfortunately, and this might be something we run into more often than not, we cannot see the GamePad screen. there are multiple times when the TV screen tells the play to look down, but in this particular video we really don’t know what the player is seeing. It mostly seems like the player was managing the items he was picking up, but surely there are more interesting things to see. We need to know if the actions promised in the fake gameplay trailer work out well or not, but someone will surely write up some impressions about that.
