It has yet to be a month since Steam Greenlight allowed us, the raving masses, to vote on games to be made available on Steam, and today they have announced which out of the first batch of hopefuls will get their chance to be in a future Indie Bundle during Steam’s Summer Sale. Come on, Woodcutter Simulator 2012!
The news post/press release about the titles had this to say:
Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Counter-Strike, Half-Life, Left 4 Dead, Portal, and Team Fortress) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced the first set of titles submitted through Steam Greenlight have earned critical mass and been picked up for worldwide distribution.
The first set of titles to launch via Greenlight will be released independently in the months ahead (as they are varying stages of completion).
“The Steam community rallied around these titles and made them the clear choice for the first set of titles to launch out of Greenlight,” said Anna Sweet of Valve. “Since launch, hundreds of titles have been submitted, with more coming in every day. We expect to be announcing more titles coming to Steam via Greenlight soon.”
And the ten titles we shall see (sometime) in the future are:
- Black Mesa
- Cry of Fear
- Dream
- Heroes & Generals
- Kenshi
- McPixel
- No More Room In Hell
- Project Zomboid
- Routine
- Towns
And there you have it. At least we know the process is working at some level. They had always said that there will be refinements to the system (recently they added a $100 fee to post your game to eliminate spam), so we will just have to see how this shapes up in the future.
Which out of these titles will you pick up?
