Not satisfied with simply raising millions of dollars for charities via selling indie games, the Humble Bundle folks have a new think going starting today: The Humble Music Bundle. It’s music. In a bundle. Sold humbly.
Just like their gaming bundles, to get the music offered you pay what you want (or can) and most of that money goes to various charities and the devs (or artists in this case). It’s a good way to get a lot of media for a good price and also help people. You would have to be a terrible person to not want to partake. You aren’t a terrible person, are you? *peer pressure*
For this music bundle, here are the items up for grabs:
Favoritism by MC Frontalot
Album Raises New and Troubling Questions by They Might Be Giants
Calling All Dawns by Christopher Tin
Best of Valkyria Chronicles by Hitoshi Sakimoto (!!!)
Janathon Coulton’s Greatest Hits (Plus 13 Other Songs) by Jonathon Coulton
Twelve Remixes of Four Songs by OK Go**if you pay more than the average
The Valkyria Chronicles stuff kind of came out of left field, but in a really good way. If you have never played the game, you should try to because it’s amazing and one of he best strategy RPGs of this generation. Definitely worth the current average of $7.99, but so are the rest of the albums.
As as aside: it is really crazy to see how fast these bundles are sold. The image above was taken right before starting this post, and now it’s up to 7,900 sold. It’s been about ten minutes. Good job, everyone.
So hurry over to the Humble Bundle site and get some good music, you scoundrel. You can preview all of the tracks, too, in case getting a ton of music at any price is just too crazy for you to blindly help people.
