If you missed the VGX awards yesterday (and no one, trust me, is blaming you), then you might also have missed some of the new trailers for upcoming and just announced titles. If that’s the case, then look no further.
All told, 13 “world premiere” videos were shown, though mostly it was simply updated footage of games we already knew about. Three, however, Tales from the Borderlands, Game of Thrones, and No Man’s Sky, are brand new.
Titanfall Stryder and Ogre Mechs
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
No Man’s Sky
Destiny
Tomb Raider for PS4 and Xbox One
The Division Snowdrop Engine first look
Tales from the Borderlands
Quantum Break
South Park: The Stick of Truth
Broken Age
Game of Thrones
Thief
There you have it. The rest of VGX had some awards, some terrible ad libbing by a group of five guys before a half hour GTA:V music concert, and Joel McHale pretending really hard to be too cool for the show and then at some point having a person tell him that no one on Twitter was enjoying the shtick so he then became somewhat excited about the subject matter.
Overall, the show was better, but still had some weird moments. If they want to have a celebrity co-host, they need one that can actually be part of the conversation and be excited for what is going on. Aisha Tyler comes to mind.
The good news is that we know about No Man’s Sky now. It looks really interesting. And Broken Age looks to be coming along very nicely.
