As someone who is but twenty-seven years old, it is fun to think about some of the game franchises out there that are as old as I am. There are but few that have nearly consistently equaled great gameplay and story with every new iteration like The Legend of Zelda. After 25 years, Nintendo wants to remind you of that.
How will they remind you of that? With new games, of course! Well, mostly new games. Actually there will just be some re-releases, but there is at least one new game. One to rule them all. Firstly, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is coming out for the 3DS in just a couple of weeks. It is a remake of the most popular game in the series, but this time in THREEEE DEEEEE. Also, LoZ: Link’s Awakening was just released on the 3DS E-Shop for download. It is certainly the best handheld Zelda title beyond question. You cannot question it. Next is a downloadable version of LoZ: Four Swords for the DSi this fall, if you happen to have one of those crazy things.
Most importantly, though, is The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, coming this fall to Wii. It’s brand new, and this time you can ride a giant bird! Giant birds, guys, come on! I mean, look at this game; you find things that are ON FIRE:
Also, for those of you who may not know much about the series (shame on you), they have a nice video on their information page to catch you up. The video has the adorable Shigeru Miyamoto in it. You pretty much have to watch.
